ELIZABETH M. LAWRENCE
Elizabeth M. Lawrence, 91, of Englewood died Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Englewood Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on February 1, 1918 in Austria to Paul and Tekla Obach. Mrs. Lawrence is preceded in death by her first husband, Otto Berger, who died during World War II in 1944. She moved to the United States in 1956. For several years she was a ski instructor for a well known ski resort in Stow, VT. She also instructed for several other large resorts in Canada, Colorado and New England area. She married Richard Lawrence in 1963 and moved to Englewood in 1982 from Boston, MA. Richard died in 2005.
Survivors include her three sons: Harro, Roland and Tassilo Berger all of Austria; two step-sons: Richard Lawrence, Jr. of Benton, ME; David Lawrence of Maui, HI; seven grand children and four great grand children.
Service will be private.
