PAUL F. REMIS
Paul Florian Remis, 87, of Englewood died Friday, April 17, 2009 at Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care in Port Charlotte.
Born on May 4, 1921 in East Cambridge, Massachusetts to the late John and Justyna (Ostrowska) Remis, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired as an electrical engineer and moved to Charlotte County in 1990 from Westport, MA. He was a communicant of St. Raphael Catholic Church; a member of the Knights of Columbis; Alhambra, Pro-Life and St. Joseph’s Retreat League.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years: Angela F. Remis of Englewood, FL; one daughter: Mary S. (James) Grikas of Colts Neck, NJ; one son: Matthew P. Remis of Englewood, FL; one niece: Mary Ann Flannagan of Mill Creek, WA and two grandsons; Brandon and Tyler Grikas.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 4 PM until 6 PM at the Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 South McCall Road. Funeral Mass will be said on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 10 AM at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 770 Kilbourne Avenue. Burial will take place in the Sarasota National VA Cemetery.
